with coffee plantations and green hills, Coorg lures people from all
over the country. The dewy mountain tops, gushing waterfalls, adventure
avenues and perennial pleasant weather altogether make it ideal for a

1. Mallalli Falls

the foothills of Pushpagiri Mountains, this waterfall is milkiest
during the monsoons. One of the best sightseeing places in Karnataka,
the cascade is around 25 km from Somwarpet and lies in the northern
region of Kodagu District. It is advised to take a guide if you plan to
go trekking to this place. Do not be surprised if you come across an

2. River Rafting in Barapole River

an adventure buff, a trip to this misty land is incomplete without a

4. Golden Temple, Bylakuppe

14 Kms from Kushal Nagar, when you step into Bylakuppe, you will be
transported to a mini Tibet. In this settlement lies the alluring Golden
temple, also known as Namdroling Monastery. Based on Buddhist
traditions, the temple was built in 1960 by Tibetans who settled in
Coorg.

5. Quad Biking and Micro Light Flying
Apart
from river rafting, you also can opt for quad biking and micro light
flying in Coorg if you crave some adventure. In Quad biking you get to
off-road through the forest and ride on 250cc machines. Feel the thrill
as you uncover many hidden sights along the way.
In
Micro light flying, take to the sky as you sore around 5,000 feet above
the ground. Get a bird's eye-view of the dreamy landscape seated on the

6. Dubare Elephant Camp

Elephant camp. A project undertaken by the forest department and Jungle
Lodges and Resorts Ltd, this is where the adorable elephants are trained
and looked after. Witness the lives of these gentle animals as a

7. Tadiandamol Trek
Offering
a thrilling trekking adventure, Tadiandamol is the highest peak in
Coorg. Make your way through the exquisite greens of Shoola Forests to
reach the peak. This peak stands tall at 1,748 meters above sea
level.The two main trek routes comprise Aramane / Palace route and Honey
Valley route.
Chikmagalur
Lolling
on the foothills of Mullayanagiri Range, Chikmagalur is labelled as the
‘coffee land’ of Karnataka due to the fact that this is the very first
place where the coffee plant was grown in India. Abundant with thickets

8. Kemmanagundi Trek
Kemmannagundi
is a secluded hill surrounded by Baba BudanGiri Range. A trek to this

9. Kalhatti Falls

10 km from Kemmangundi Hill Station, Kalahasti Falls gushes from the
Chandra Drona Hill from a height of 122 meters. Among many of the
sightseeing places in Karnataka, the added charm of this place is the
Veerabhadreshwara Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. People believe that
the water that flows above the three elephant stone carvings here can
cure diseases.
10. Kudremukh Trek

a horse’s face, the Kudremukh Peak is where you are bound to enjoy
trekking that covers around 18kms. It’s the third highest peak in
Karnataka and stands at 1894 meters above sea level. Dense forests, open

11. Coffee Plantation Walk

in 1971, the Bannerghatta National Park just outside Bangalore harbours
nature's many charms. Spreading over an area of 104.27 sq km, one can
spot wild animals like leopards, lions, zebras, Bengal tigers, panthers,
rhinoceroses, elephants, porcupines, white tigers, spotted deer, bison
and bears. The lion and tiger safari are quite popular here. An added
advantage of this place is the close proximity with which you can get a
glimpse of the animals.
22. Camping and Rafting in Bheemeshwari
A
treasure trove for adventure and wildlife seekers, Bheemeshwari is 2 km
away from Mutati and rests on the banks of Cauvery River. The abundant

23. Iskcon Temple

24. Sholay Cycling Tour
Lap
up an adventure cycling trip to the craggy landscape of Ramanagaram.
The very place where the iconic movie Sholay was shot, this makes for an

in all and along the way you would also come across a Lord Rama temple

Hampi

27. Cave Temples

must-do in Badami is a tour of the fascinating sandstone cave temples.
Cave temple 1 is said to be the oldest in the region and is marked by
the hall with numerous pillars, paintings on the ceiling and 18 armed
Lord Nataraja in 81 dancing poses. Cave temple 3 goes way back to 578
AD. Cave temple 2 is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Cave temple 4 is
related to Jainism.
28. Badami Fort
Located
on top of the hill, the Badami Fort is a renowned archaeological site.
The entrance is guarded by Nandi (Shiva’s bull) and there are two
medieval Chalukyan temples in the complex. You will have to walk through the rugged landscape to get here but the sights from the top are rewarding.
Sakleshpur
Nestled
in the famous Malnad region, Sakleshpur is known for its rich
biodiversity. The hill station is also recognized for its lush hills
dotted with coffee, cardamom, pepper and areca plantations.

We recently visited Bangalore palace which is inside the Palace grounds around 5 kms from the city center. This was one of the amazing heritage tour which took us to the royal history of our Maharajas & British period who ruled Bangalore before independence during the 18th and 19th century . This palace was constructed during the mid 18th century by British and later was purchased by Mysore Wodeyar Maharaja family.We bring you out our visit experience which may help you to plan visit to this awesome monument.
Well, this palace is inside the palace grounds with ample space surrounding with parks and plantations. Please note there is an entry fee if you want to go inside the palace. However you are allowed to view the palace from outside , but photography is strictly not allowed! A entry fee of Rs.225 is charged for Indian visitors , Rs.450 for foreign visitors and if you wish to take photos inside & around the palace - a extra ticket of Rs.675 has to be taken, now that's a Royal entry !! We found this worth once we experienced the palace.
Make sure you carry some photo identify proof which could be a PAN card , Driving licence , company ID card etc and for foreigners a passport would suffice, as this is collected and kept at the counter for security reasons , you may collect it only on exit !
Once you get the tickets , an audio guide device & headset will be given and instructions will be provided by the staff on how to use it while you enter each division in the palace. This device looks similar to a mobile device with keypads where you can key in to get pre-loaded information. This comes in different languages which you may select at the counter and you may need to hang this around your neck.The information provided in very good.

30. Ombattu Gudda Trek

Around
971 meters above sea level, the Ombattu Gudda peak is one of the
highest in the Western Ghats. The place is called so because of the nine
continuous humps that it adorns. The trekking distance is around 24 kms
or so. Tigers, leopards, jungle cats, barking deer, gaurs, sloth bears,
wild elephants can be spotted in the forests.
31. Murkannu Gudda and Hadlu Waterfall Trek
For
a double treat, indulge in the Murkannu Gudda and Hadlu waterfall trek.
Unravel the pictorial beauty and rich biodiversity of the Western Ghats
and Sakleshpur. The trek of around 5 hours will cover close to 8 km.
Due to all that if offers, this is one of the most sought-after treks in
the area.
Murdeshwar
Resting
in Bhatkal Taluk of Uttara Kannada, Murudeshwara houses the world's
second-tallest Shiva statue. Serene in nature, this pristine land also
has some watersport avenues.
32. Murudeshwar Beach, Statue of Lord Shiva
The
Murudeshwar Beach captivates with its blue waters, white sands and
charming mountains. This is where the popular statue of Lord Shiva
resides. Towering and visible even from a distance, the idol was made in
such a way that it receives direct sunlight and thus appears to
sparkle.
33. Scuba Diving and Snorkelling at Netrani Island
From
Murudeshwara Beach, you can escape to the exquisite Netrani Island.
Being a coral island, scuba diving and snorkelling makes for a winsome
experience. Several varieties of coral, butterfly fish, trigger fish,
parrot fish, eels and shrimps are seen here.

paradise for pilgrims and beach lovers alike, Gokarna offers the better
of two worlds. Devotees throng to the Mahabaleshwara Temple and other

38. Mahabaleshwar Temple

important landmark of Gokarna, the Mahabaleshwar Temple has several

12 km. Visit the Chamundeshwari Temple that is believed to belong to the

53. Jog Falls

a visit to the second-highest plunge waterfall in India. Fiercely
flowing down from the cliff from a height of 253 meters, they make for
spectacular sight. Among the most attractive places to see in Karnataka,
it is said that a good 3.4 million tonnes of water gush down the cliff

54. Sharavathi Backwaters
The
pristine Sharavathi backwaters open up many excitements. It came into
being when a dam was constructed at Linganamakki of Sagarataluk. The
waterbody that is 60 km in length and about 15 km wide has a lot of

Sports like kayaking, coracle ride, canoeing, raft-building and boating

55. Kodachadri Trek

natural heritage site, Kodachadri is buried in the dense forests at its

islands. Legend has it that Vasco da Gama landed here in 1498 while on
his escapade from Portugal, fixed a cross and coined one of the islands O
PadrĂ£o de Santa Maria, as a dedication towards Mother Mary, hence the
name. When it is not raining, regular ferries ply from the Malpe fishing

62. Lighthouse at Kaup Beach

the way between Udupi and Mangalore is a tiny village called Kaup. The
beach over here is picturesque and several films have been shot in this
location. The golden highlight of the seashore is a lighthouse that was
built in the year 1901. Open to visitors during the day, it provides a

63. Sri Krishna Temple

several devotees, the Sri Krishna Temple is a landmark of Udupi and is

majestic Dravidian architecture, the place of worship is dedicated to

carved and silver plated.

world over for its milky white appearance, the Dudhsagar Waterfalls is a
sight for sore eyes. Situated on the Mandovi River in Goa on Goa's
border with Karnataka, there is a trek to this place that starts from
Belgaum. The trail spills many delights as you will be making way
through tunnels and railway tracks. The trekking activity would be for
around 4 hours.
66. B.R Hills
A
sweet respite, the Biligiriranga Hillsis preferred by travellers from
Bangalore and Chennai. It lies in Karnataka, at the border of this state
and Tamil Naidu. At the confluence of the Western Ghats and the Eastern
Ghats, unique eco-systems can be found here. Apart from sinking in the
