“Hortus Botanicus Lovaniensis” may not be missed and contains plants of
therapeutic power, herb gardens, greenhouses and some statues.
8. The Haspengouw

Belize
The Lazy Lizard at "The Split" in Caye Caulker
Inland Belize to the Cayes is a very
popular tourist route. Many island seeking travellers who are coming to Belize from
Mexico and Guatemala skip inland locales and head straight to the beaches of Caye
Caulker or Ambergris Caye. The Cayes can be easily reached using Belize City as
the focal point as there are two highly dependable water taxi services that
leave every one to two hours.
Corozal, the northernmost district is
connected to Belize City by the Northern Highway. It starts immediately after
leaving the Mexican border, enters Corozal town and passes through Orange Walk
town and surrounding villages.
Benin
Cotonou is the largest city and economic centre of Benin.
Its official population count was 761,137 inhabitants in 2006; however,
some estimates indicate its population to be as high as 1.2 million; the
population in 1960 was only 70,000. The urban area continues to expand,
notably towards the west. The city lies in the southeast of the
country, between the Atlantic Ocean and Lake Nokoué.
In addition to being Benin's largest city, it is also the seat of
government (even though Porto-Novo is the official capital); it is home
to most of the country's government buildings and diplomatic services.
The city is a major port, and is also home to an airport and a railway
that links to Parakou.

BOLIVIA
ne block of stone here in Puma Punku in BOLIVIA was estimated to be 440 tons weight. A beauty of Bolivia Tourism.
The others laying about are even 150 tons. All of them are
masterpieces from any modern builder's point of view. Power machines
were allowed to anyone at about 500 B.C. when this complex was built. If
it is 500 B.C. Other scholars consider 2000 B.C. more realistic.
Bosnia and Herzegovina
Bjelasnica, as a counterpart to Jahornia hosted the men's alpine
skiing events of the 1984 Winter Olympics where US skier Bill Johnson
won a gold medal for skiing as the first American male. When it comes to skiing Bjelasnica can't be beat. There are numerous skiing paths, ski lifts as well as resorts. Visit the official webpage for more info on events. If you are more into exploring nature and history, try visiting the old village Lukomir (image
above this text), but take not that the roads are only open in late
spring, summer and early autumn. The village is situated in the
municipality of Konjic and is the highest altitude and most remote
village in the entire country. The homes in the area are made of stone
while their roofs are composed of wooden tiles.
Botswana
Savute
Truly at the interior of the park, Savuté boasts most of the chobe
species, except for water-loving antelope. It is best known for its
predators, particularly lion, cheetah and hyena, of which there are large
resident populations.
The Savuté channel flows from the Linyanti River for about 100
kilometres, carrying water away from the river and releasing it into a
vast swampland called the Savuté Marsh, and further south onto the
Mababe Depression, which is also fed by the Ngwezumba River from the
northeast. The Mababe – immense and flat and fringed by thickets of
trees – was once part of the Makgadikgadi super-lake. When filled with
water, it becomes the venue for thousands of migratory birds and
animals, particularly large herds of zebra.
Geographically, Savuté is an area of many curiosities. One of its
greatest mysteries is the Savuté channel itself, which has over the past
100 year inexplicably dried up and recommenced its flow several times.
This irregular water flow explains the numerous dead trees that line the
channel, for they have germinated and grown when the channel was dry
and drowned when the channel flowed again.
Brazil
Surrounded by cliffs, natural pools,
rivers and with a nearby village, this place has one of the most
interesting landscapes in this list. Because all of that, it´s one of
the best beaches in Brazil.
With it´s blue and green calm waters it´s the perfect spot to rest with your family.
You will find a lot of hotels and
lodges to choose. But accommodations and food tend to be a bit
expensive, so if you want to save some money try not to spend more than
one day there. Although if you do have the money, a few
days relaxing here would not be a waste.

The Shwedagon or Greater Dragon Pagoda is considered the most sacred
site in Buddhism in Myanmar because it contains a strand of Buddha’s
hair and other religious relics. The 2,500-year-old pagoda is located on
Singuttara Hill in Yangon, the largest city in Myanmar. Over the
centuries, the pagoda has grown from 8 meters to 99 meters (26 feet to
366 feet). The origins of Shwedagon are lost in antiquity but it is
estimated that the Pagoda was first built by the Mon during the Bagan
period, sometime between the 6th and 10th century AD. It is covered in
gold leaf; the stupa is covered in 4,531 diamonds. Numerous temples,
statues and stupas can be found at this unforgettable site. Pagoda
visitors are expected to follow a dress code (trousers preferred,

Burundi
Is there anything valuable that this tiny central African country can offer an adventure-seeking tourist?
The answer is plenty.
Burundi provides a range of exciting holiday opportunities for both the adventurous and the lazy sun-bathing tourists.
Because of its geographical position, the country has a combination
of flora and fauna which can be found in the east African region, the
Zambezi region and central Africa.
Its variations in altitude, which ranges from 780 to 2,666 metres
above sea level, allows the forming of a variety of different
environments. Burundi is naturally a very rich country, richer than its
northern neighbour, Rwanda. Ruvubu National Park The park was set up in 1980 and it covers
about 500 sq Kms. Being made of mainly Savannah vegetation, swamps,
gallery forests, Ruvubu National Park is a home to a number of animals
like hippopotamus, buffalos, crocodiles, waterbucks. In 2011 the park
still lack organized activities and protection. The number of animals is
still limited but there are plans to reintroduce zebras and
antelopes. There are monkeys like vervet monkey, red colobus, baboons.
The vegetation is very interesting and the view from the top of the
hills overlooking the river is unique. Among other trees species, the
protea madiensis, percobsis angolansis, eritrina abissinica. The park also has more than 425 bird species
some of which are not found anywhere in the world and different species
of flowers. There are not standard hotels near the park, therefore the
best starting point to visit the park is still Gitega.Bugarama - Gitega Gitega
is the second largest city in Burundi, after Bujumbura and it is
located exactly on the center of the country. Along the road from
Bujumbura to Gitega, you can stop over at the place of Kiganda Treaty.
Here in 1904 the Germans were forced to acknowledge that King Mwezi
Gisabo was king of Burundi and was protected by the Germans but in
return the king had to also acknowledge the sovereignty of Germany. Here
a treaty was signed and monument built as a reminder that still exists
up to today. About 34 km from Bujumbura, is located Bugarama, the
Batwa village. It is interesting to see how the Batwa have started in
this site a new life, which does not forget the old traditions, focusing
on bee culture production, herbal medicines, handicraft and pottery. In
Gitega you can visit the National Museum. Founded in 1995, it hosts a
collection of the past and present day Burundi depicting traditional and
cultural customs. In Gitega you can also visit the royal palace, the
tomb of the last queen, the local craft village, the Gitega Art School
for ceramics, paintings and sculptures and see the wood work. Here is
the work shop of one of the greatest artists in Burundi, Mr. Lazare
Rurerekana. Near town also the tree that symbolizes the real center of
the country and the coffee plantation with the coffee processing
factory, Sogestal.
Gishora Drums Sanctuary Gishora Drums Sanctuary is one of the most exciting cultural places in Burundi, found on the hills few km out of Gitega. The
story of the origin of this site dates back in 1900, when the king of
Burundi Mwezi Gisabo was escaping from Muravi after the invasion of the
Germans and was hidden in Gishora. He later returned to his palace and
died in 1908. To thank the people who helped him in Gishora, he left the
gift of the drums, one male one female, which he made himself with skin
of cows and were never played. The sanctuary was opened in 1989 and
offers to visitors the exhibitions of the group of dancers and drum
players, led by the descendents of those who welcomed the king in 1900.
In the Burundi traditions, the drums were used only on special occasions
and played the professionals who were appointed by the king to do so. A
visit to the Gishora drum sanctuary will help enlighten you more about
the cultural tradition of Burundi.
Nyanza Region Southern Burundi
The Southern region of Burundi, Nyanza, is
characterized by the palm trees plantations and local production of palm
oil. Coming from Gitega and passing via Rutana, you might visit the

Muhweza hot water site, well known place for thermal water treatment.
Another important site for traditional dances is Makamba, where you can
assist to the characteristic Agasimbo dancers performace.
Cambodia
whose landscape spans low-lying plains, the Mekong Delta,
mountains and Gulf of Thailand coastline. Its busy capital, Phnom Penh,

National Museum's historical and archaeological exhibits. In the
country's northwest lie ruins of Angkor Wat, a massive stone temple
complex built during the Khmer Empire

Cameroon, on the Gulf of Guinea, is a Central African country of
varied terrain and wildlife. Its inland capital, Yaoundé, and its

Boali
Boali Waterfalls
The small town of Boali is mainly visited for the nearby Boali Falls.
These waterfalls are just upstream from the town and are possibly the
best known landmark in the Central African Republic. The falls consist

season they join together to form a powerful and impressive fall.
Several tourism companies operate in the are and there is even a hotel
and restaurant atop the falls.

. Zakouma National Park
The national park covers 1,200 square
miles of grasslands that turn into swamps and wetlands during rainy
season. At first glance, nothing seems special about it but wait until
you start seeing animals! African wildlife including elephants, lions,
and giraffes can be seen throughout Zakouma National Park though you may
need the the assistance of an experienced guide.
2. N’djamena
The city is the economic center of Chad,
being the site of its cattle, cotton, and fishing industries. N’djamena
also happens to be the capital and only large city in Chad. While most
of the city was destroyed by the civil war of 1979, some of its
attractions are still intact. Among the sights to see here are some
mosques, cathedrals, and the Chad National Museum which chronicles the
country’s history.
3. Lake Chad
The lake is really a massive inland sea
within Chad but is also bordered by other African nations including
Cameroon, Niger, and Nigeria. It is located 70 miles from the capital of
N’djamena and is one of the top tourist attractions in Chad. The area
provides opportunities for sightseeing wildlife such as hippos,
crocodiles, and waterfowls. Camping is also something you can do in Bol,
a small town with its own airstrip. Fish thrive in the lake and tiny
fishing villages are there to take advantage of them for livelihood.

Chile
Santiago: Chile's Cultural Capital
Santiago is not only the financial and business capital of Chile, it
also serves as the country's cultural and entertainment center and is
home to its best museums and galleries, along with excellent shopping,
dining, and hotel options. Centrally located and the country's main
transportation hub, Santiago is where most visitors begin their Chilean
travels before heading to the Andes or other areas of outstanding
natural beauty. The smartest travelers, though, will allow time to get
to know Santiago. Founded in 1541 and relatively crowd-free, the city
features highlights such as the Centro Cultural Palacio La Moneda, a state-of-the-art cultural center occupying part of the impressive Palacio de la Moneda, and the Chilean National Museum of Fine Arts,
established in the 1880s with a focus on Chilean artists and boasting a
large permanent collection of paintings, sculptures, and photos. Other
must-sees are the excellent Museum of pre-Columbian Art, featuring collections relating to the country's native people, and the Museum of Memory and Human Rights
commemorating those who suffered under the Pinochet regime. A highlight
of any visit to Santiago is taking the aerial tramway to San Cristóbal Hill for its stunning views over this most hospitable of cities
The Great Wall of China
The Great Wall of China
"Nobody can be a true hero unless he has been on the Great Wall" goes
the popular saying, one that clearly demonstrates the importance that
the Chinese place upon this unique ancient monument. The magnificent
Great Wall of China - known in Chinese as Changcheng, or the Long Wall -
stretches more than 6,000 kilometers from the fortresses of Shanhaiguan
in the east to Jiayuguan in the west, passing through Hebei, Tientsin, Beijing
- where the best preserved section of the wall can be visited - Inner
Mongolia, Ningxia, and Gansu along the way. Averaging six to eight
meters in height but rising as high as 16 meters in places, and wide
enough for cavalry to pass, the wall boasts numerous battlements and
watchtowers, some dating back as far as the 7th century BC, with the
best-known areas added around 210 BC when its various sections were
joined. Today, the most visited section of the wall is near Badaling Pass
northwest of Beijing, easily reached by public transport or organized
tours. Other restored sections worth a visit include the section near Gubeikou, 130 kilometers from Beijing, and in Mutianyu, just 70 kilometers northeast of Beijing.
Colombia
Caño Cristales is the most beautiful river in
Colombia and perhaps one of the most unspoiled natural places to visit
in this diverse country. Caño Cristales is located inside the National Natural Park La Macarena in the department of Meta in the Eastern region of Colombia know as The Plains.
Caño Cristales is an unique natural wonder due to its outstanding
combination of colours like yellow, green, blue, black and specially the
red colour given by the sub aquatic plant "Macarenia clavigera". This
plant lines on the floor of the river and turns red during the wet
season (from June to November); during this period of time the water
flows too fast and deep, obscuring the bottom of the river and cutting
off sunlight that turns the Macarenia clavigera red. The other colours
are given by the minerals found on the rocks of the river.
At Caño Cristales, you can trek along the three branches of the river
to see the spectacular succession of rapids, waterfalls and natural
pools running throughout the old rocks of the canyon. There, you can
take pictures, swim or just enjoy the astonishing views of this
paradisiacal place.
We hope you decide to visit as many of these amazing places as you can.
costa rica
If you are a thrill-seeker and someone that craves adventure, then
Costa Rica is definitely the place for you. It's home to the original
canopy tour that lets you travel through the jungle like a monkey, and
it's known for its zip-lining tours, whitewater rafting on world class
rapids, kayaking, scuba diving, cliff diving, sky diving and pretty much
anything else extreme that you can come up with.
Beaches
Costa Rica is a great place for the unadventurous as well, or for
those who just need a break in between adventures. With almost 1,000
miles of coastline, Costa Rica is home to some lovely beaches. Whether
you choose to visit a public beach in Manuel Antonio National Park or
maybe your hotel has its own private beach, you will definitely be
delighted to feel the sand between your toes and warm sun on your face.
If you are looking for lots of sun, maybe avoid the rainy season.
With approximately 1,200 islands, azure waters and picturesque villages rich in history, Croatia
is drawing more and more travelers to its shores. In fact, Croatia
closed the 2012 tourism year as the Mediterranean’s fastest growing
destination, luring travelers with its pristine national parks,
adventure sports and UNESCO World Heritage sites such as the medieval
Old Town of Dubrovnik. There’s more big news ahead as Croatia enters the
European Union in summer 2013 as the 28th member state, and in
especially good news for American travelers, the country will retain its
use of the kuna, the domestic currency, which is kinder to the American
dollar than the euro. While travel in Croatia is pretty much a breeze,
here are a few do's and don’ts to help you navigate the country’s
diverse offerings more smoothly.

• Almacenes San Jose market

city.
Curacao
These caves had a utilitarian purpose during the early
days of the slave trade in Curacao, escaped slaves used them as hiding
places, and lived in them for months at a time. Even before the arrival
of Europeans
and slaves, the Amerindian Arawaks used them for
shelter, and left behind cave drawings, or petroglyphs, estimated at
1,500 years old.
Guides will take you through the caves. They'll point
out the apocryphal and fanciful stories behind some of the stalactites
and stalagmites; in the eerie lighting, some take on shapes and are
called the
Pirate's Head, the Sea Tortoise, and the Giant of Jack
and the Beanstalk fame. The caves are north of Willemstad on the
Roosevelt Weg ('weg' is 'street' or 'road' in Dutch), near the airport.

Denmark
Nyhavn
One of my favorite parts of town is Nyhavn. These
beautiful buildings have so much color and character. First you must
stroll along this street either on the seat of a bike or strolling along
on a walk. There are canal tours for those who want to see it from the
water side as well. Great food along there as well. I often ended my
day along Nyhavn.
If you’re in Copenhagen for a conference, or cruise, or a holiday.
You will find plenty to do to fill your 24 hours in beautiful
Copenhagen.
Dominica
1.
Boiling Lake: One of the largest of its kind, it's
reached after a hard 3-4 hour hike through the forest, crossing

sulphur spring and geyser park in it's own right.
.
2.
Ti Tou Gorge: A crevice in which hot and cold streams
intermingle, a swim in these crystal clean waters leads to

and orchids culminates at the spectacular 150 feet drop into
a crisp clear pool of water. You can go via the village of
Cochrane or from near Laudat.

Egypt
Egypt, a country linking northeast Africa with the Middle East,
dates to the time of the pharaohs. Millennia-old monuments still sit
along the fertile Nile River Valley, including the colossal Pyramids and
Sphinx at Giza and the hieroglyph-lined Karnak Temple and Valley of the
Kings tombs in Luxor. The capital, Cairo, is home to Ottoman landmarks
such as Muhammad Ali Mosque.
Estonia
Seaplane Harbour
Recently voted as one of the best museums in Tallinn, the Seaplane
Harbour is a must when visiting the city. Its main attractions are the
submarine Lembit, built in 1937, and the vintage steam icebreaker “Suur
Tõll” that was built in 1914. In the Seaplane Harbour you will also find
many unique artefacts and lots of interactive games such as flight and
submarine simulators and shooting with air defence guns. It's lots of
fun!

Finland
Turku
Turku
Turku enjoyed several centuries as the most strategic and vibrant
town in all of Finland; a medieval boom that’s now showcased in the
great wealth of historical monuments here, from the great bulwarks and
shadowy dungeons of the Turku Castle to the square-cut tower of the
mighty Turku Cathedral. There’s also a vibrant student scene to enjoy,
and oodles of al fresco pubs and beer dives, vodka bars and heavy metal
music joints. Add to that a truly gorgeous setting on the edge of the
Archipelago National Park, the craft exhibitions and untouched
historical wonders of the Luostarinmaki district and the pretty beech
forests and golf courses of Ruissalo, and Turku really starts to score
points!
Carcassonne
Carcassonne
With its turreted towers and crenellated ramparts, Carcassonne seems
straight out of a fairy-tale scene. This well-preserved (and renovated)
